Hi Rich. I thought the teacher I spoke to said that they were on loan - but Gail understood that the school bought the set themselves? Maybe Ollie could clarify.

As far as ICT support dept. buying a set goes .... sounds like a great idea. I'll pass on your request - not sure who holds the purse strings, though:-)

I think there'd be a long queue of teachers keen to try this out!!

Thanks for the links, David. I know that mr O from easter Carmuirs is planning to do some work with Guitar Hero soon. I'll be sure to pass on the planning doc. info!

When i visited Wallyford PS, I spoke to one of the teachers involved in the project and discovered that she's moving to a school in Falkirk in the near future :-)

p.s. I wonder why your comments don't appear right away? I only discovered it when I logged in to the blog .... no email alert either?

Sounds like one of the best days ever had at school! Interested to hear if the school bought their own DS' or if they were from LTScotland? Would be a great investment for any school, but maybe quite hard to set aside the cash. Perhaps a Local Authority ICT support department could invest in a set and then loan them out? :o)

Hi Margaret, Glad you enjoyed your day in East Lothian. As Ollie probably said, we're extending the Guitar Hero project across all 6 clusters this session, so there will be lots more experience to draw on by the end of the year. So far we've held the first planning workshop, some snaps of which you can see on Flickr. Some staff got quite excited, never mind the children!

If anyone's interested in finding out more, there's a project blog at http://edubuzz.org/blogs/mgsguitarhero where the staff involved have shared their planning documents showing how they linked to Curriculum for Excellence outcomes.
